Break past your limits in an unforgettable weekend as the Spartan European Championship descends on the stunning alpine region of Zell am See-Kaprun from September 6th to 8th, 2024.
This adrenaline-fuelled event promises to be an unforgettable highlight of the year for the whole family.
Featuring the world’s toughest BEAST Race, a Super 10K, a Sprint 5K, and courses for little Spartans, this weekend has something for everyone.
The race weekend kicks off on Friday afternoon, September 6th, with the Spartan Kids races for 4-14-year-olds, ranging from 1-3K.
There is no timekeeping in these races—the focus is on having fun. Kids will be put through their paces on size-appropriate obstacles, coupled with mud, running, and lots of climbing.
Each child receives a finisher medal, a finisher shirt, a Spartan headband, and bragging rights at school.
On Saturday, the truly brave will embark on the ultimate Spartan test: a soul-crushing half marathon with 30 obstacles, five of which you will never find at any of the smaller, shorter Spartan races.
Set amongst the breathtaking Kitzsteinhorn Glacier, it’ll be hard to know if it’s the scenery, obstacles, or the 2000 meters of elevation gain that will take your breath away.
In addition to the BEAST race, the Spartan European Championship offers SPRINT and SUPER races on both Saturday and Sunday for those looking to ‘earn their stripes.’
Perfect for beginners, the SPRINT race gives athletes a chance to step outside their comfort zone and challenge their endurance, agility, and mental strength as they race across 5K with 20 obstacles.
The SUPER race is ideal for returning Spartans looking to level up their game, pushing through 10K with 25 obstacles.
This annual event will see many determined participants striving to earn the coveted Trifecta Weekend Medal by completing the Sprint, Super, and Beast races. Those who succeed will be fundamentally transformed inside and out.
