Rotherham United Extend Turmeric Partnership After Successful First Season

Richard Wood

Rotherham United and Thomas Hal Robson-Kanu’s The Turmeric Co. have confirmed a continuation of their partnership, which will see The Turmeric Co. continue to support the first team as the club’s Nutritional Supplement Partners throughout the 2022/23 campaign.

The market leaders in their nutritional sector, The Turmeric Co. joined the Millers’ list of commercial partners last term, in a deal which saw the functional nutrition business work alongside the club’s first team players and staff by supplying a range of its supplements to support with the rigorous training schedules by aiding their recovery.

The new agreement will run for the duration of the club’s 2022/23 Sky Bet Championship campaign and once again give Rotherham United’s players access to a unique range of turmeric shots across a combination of flavours including a combination of powerful fresh ingredients including turmeric, ginger and beetroot.

The Turmeric Co.’s ever-growing product range is a carefully selected combination of nature’s most naturally beneficial foods.

Deliciously refreshing in taste, the range uses unique blends, designed to maximise the absorption of raw turmeric root in every shot and provide further assistance to reduce soreness and inflammation whilst also helping with immune system support and endurance performances.

The commercial partnership will see The Turmeric Co. provided with a range of exciting sponsorship and branding opportunities for the 2022/23 Sky Bet Championship campaign, with their logo featuring online across the club’s social media platforms on the club’s matchday graphics and inside AESSEAL New York Stadium on LED boards on matchdays.

The relationship has proven to be incredibly mutually beneficial for the two parties with Rotherham United’s players and staff enjoying the physiological benefits of the product, whilst The Turmeric Co. have continued to see their brand grow within football circles throughout the course of the business relationship so far.

Speaking after the deal was concluded, first team Head of Performance and Medical Stephen Gilpin said: “It is common knowledge that we pride ourselves on pushing the players to their physical limits here at Rotherham United but whilst taking care to ensure their continued well-being both physiologically and psychologically.

“We try to put in place practices that ensure that the lads have all the tools they need to remain in peak physical condition throughout what is a long and hard season and, having welcomed The Turmeric Co. on board last season, we have been able to provide an added element to the recovery process with their Turmeric shots.

“We have definitely seen a marked improvement in a number of players since we added the shots to the fridges up at the training ground and you only need to speak to our club captain Richard Wood – who turned 37 this summer – to hear him waxing lyrical about how they have improved the way that his body is able to deal with the stresses of day-to-day training.

“We are always looking at ways in which we can get those “one per cent” advantages and we certainly feel like working alongside the guys from The Turmeric Co. does that for us.”

Thomas Robson-Kanu, Founder, CEO at The Turmeric Co. was equally delighted to renew the partnership, he said:“After supporting the club throughout their incredible 2021/22 season, we are delighted to continue working with Rotherham for their EFL Championship campaign.

“We enjoy working with elite sport clubs that fully embrace The Turmeric Co. ethos, placing functional nutrition highly on their list of priorities.

“Nutrition is essential to sporting success and is often overlooked, so it is important for us to build relationships with those pioneering clubs that want to give their athletes a competitive edge.

“Here’s hoping that the club can continue to build on last season’s efforts and move their way up the table.”
