PXG’s Year To Remember

PXGM 2020 Year in Review Apparel Fall Winter

For better or worse, 2020 has been memorable, to say the least. From launching new products, opening stores, and signing TOUR Pros to implementing COVID-19 safety measures, it’s been a hell of a year for PXG.

As PXG look forward to 2021 – and what the new year has in store – PXG wanted to pause to reflect on and recap some of our key moments from 2020.

PXG EQUIPMENT LAUNCHES

The year started with a bang and the January 2020 launch of their 0311 GEN3 Irons.

Featuring new, patented Impact Reactor Technology, GEN3 Irons delivers an incredible combination of explosive distance, forgiveness, and accuracy. They feel so soft, it’s like spreading warm butter on a hot biscuit.

In May, following exceptional feedback from the PGA and LPGA TOUR players, PXG released two Prototype Drivers.

TOUR tested and approved for outstanding distance, dispersion, sound, feel, looks, and forgiveness, PXG made the PXG 0811 Prototype Drivers available to golfers at every level of the game.

PXG_Putters

In October, PXG launched their new Battle Ready Putter Collection.

The collection debuted two riveting new putter designs – the PXG Blackjack and One & Done.  Both are 100% milled, fully optimized, mallet-style putters that offer maximum stability and increased confidence with every stroke.

The Battle Ready Collection introduced new bi-material construction, integrating aerospace-grade aluminium with high-density tungsten to support a deep centre-of-gravity (CG) location.

The collection also features the Darkness Skull 26 insignia – a reference to their Founder and CEO, Bob Parsons’ time as a Combat Rifleman during the Vietnam War in the 26th Marine Corps Regiment.

NEW SEASONAL APPAREL COLLECTIONS

Under the direction of Renee Parsons, President and Executive Creative Director of PXG Apparel, the 2020 collections took golf apparel to a whole new level.

Classic styles with an edge, PXG Apparel takes a unique approach in delivering equal parts form and function with comfortable designs created to inspire confidence on or off the course.

The PXG Spring/Summer 2020 Collection included more than forty seasonal pieces. Each garment – from polo to pullover, skirt to sweater – designed to empower men and women to express themselves with confidence and live boldly.

PXG’s largest collection to date, the Fall/Winter 2020 Collection took an even bigger step beyond traditional golf wear, debuting modern designs that work anywhere, from fairways to open roads.

The Fall/Winter 2020 Collection also introduced new, luxurious materials including Italian performance blends, cashmere, wool, goose down, and leather.

New categories were also added – with a statement-making polo dress, luxurious winter hats, face coverings, and two fits to their expanded line of men’s polos.

NEW PXG RETAIL STORE LOCATIONS

PXG’s retail footprint expanded to open three new brick-and-mortar locations in AtlantaMinneapolis, and Phoenix.

Each store delivers personalized experiences, retail shopping and golf club fittings for golfers at every skill level.

Founder and CEO Bob Parsons said, “We are in the business of creating exceptional experiences. Our stores, as well as our mobile fitting program, are designed to help deliver that experience to golf enthusiasts across the country.”

This year’s expansion brings PXG to a total of six PXG Retail & Fitting Studios across five markets…with more to come!

TOUR WINS AND NEW SIGNINGS

PGA TOUR Pros Jason Kokrak and Joel Dahmen joined the team this year along with LPGA Tour Pros Haley Moore and Mina Harigae.

LPGA Rookie, Hayley Moore enjoyed a dream start to her professional career with an opening round 65. Moore harnessed that form to capture a hat trick of wins on the Cactus Tour while the LPGA schedule remained on pause due to COVID-19.

Following 166 days of a COVID-19 enforced break, the LPGA returned in August with PXG Tour Professional Celine Boutier coming out of the blocks strong to bag second place at the LPGA Drive on Championship.

PXG secured two notable wins shortly thereafter in the abridged season including LPGA star Austin Ernst’s victory at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship and Jason Kokrak’s triumph at the CJ Cup.

GIVING AND GIVING BACK

At a time when it’s more important than ever to come together, Bob and Renee Parsons, through their Foundation and PXG, continued their focus on making a difference in the communities we serve.

Early in 2020, PXG and the apparel team realized a difference making opportunity through the creation and distribution of cloth face masks.

In April they released the PXG Essential Face Mask, a non-medical mask designed to provide an extra layer of protection while conducting essential business.

At the guidance of Bob and Renee Parsons, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of every mask in April through June was donated to Team Rubicon

Team Rubicon is a veteran-led non-profit that unites the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders. Their mission – to help people prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters and humanitarian crises.

Team Rubicon mobilized again in September as the devastation of Hurricane Laura became apparent.

On September 11, 2020, PXG Founder Bob Parsons travelled to Lake Charles, Louisiana to see Hurricane Laura’s widespread devastation firsthand.

PXG, in conjunction with The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation, committed to matching donations to Team Rubicon dollar-for-dollar, up to $2 million, to support hurricane relief efforts for Hurricanes Laura and Sally, and what was to come. To donate, visit teamrubiconusa.org/pxgmillion.

In November, Semper Fi & America’s Fund (The Fund) proudly announced that The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation issued its 9th annual challenge to raise $20 million through its Double Down for Veterans Match Campaign.

All donations made November 1 through December 31, 2020, to The Fund, will be matched, dollar-for-dollar, up to $10 million by The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation.

To round out a year that demanded creativity and flexibility, PXG in conjunction with Scottsdale National and The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation joined forces to sponsor the inaugural PXG College Golf Showcase

It features four top collegiate golfers from the PGA TOUR University Ranking along with four celebrities in an exhibition shootout, including three-time GRAMMY Award winner Darius Rucker, Marine Corps Veteran and actor/comedian Rob Riggle and Pro Football Hall of Fame members, Brian Urlacher and Jerome Bettis – the teams battled it out for a share of $1M, to help raise awareness and critical funds for the Semper Fi & America’s Fund and Team Rubicon.

While PXG now looks ahead to 2021, they seek to live by rule number seven on Bob Parsons’ 16 Rules for Success in Life and Business: Never Stop Moving Forward.

Here’s to a healthy and safe year in 2021.
