PlayStation lit up Paris this weekend, bringing sports fans a spectacular fusion of hoops and goals on a DualSense®-inspired court.
Hosted by Sony Interactive Entertainment—the official console partner of the NBA and the UEFA Champions League—this jaw-dropping showcase united basketball and football (soccer) on one unique stage, proving that Play really does have no limits.
The concept court took shape as a bold homage to the iconic DualSense controller, complete with the four legendary PlayStation button symbols mapped out beneath two football goals and two basketball hoops.
Timed to coincide with both the UEFA Champions League clash between Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City, and the NBA Paris Games 2025 featuring the San Antonio Spurs and Indiana Pacers, the event turned the City of Light into the ultimate playground for sporting legends and devoted fans.
Among the star guests were NBA legend Tony Parker and UEFA Champions League icon Robert Pires, who teamed up with top content creators, including PlayStation Playmakers Lethal Shooter and Lisa Zimouche.
Local amateur players also took part in a thrilling tournament, switching back and forth between basketball and football.
After every goal or basket, the sport changed in an instant, giving fans a spectacle unlike anything they’d seen before. Victorious teams walked away with tickets to the night’s UEFA Champions League match and the NBA showdown in Paris.
Speaking from the sidelines, four-time NBA Champion Tony Parker, who spent 17 seasons with the San Antonio Spurs, couldn’t hide his excitement: “When I first heard PlayStation were bringing together two sports, I thought it was a great idea.
A very original event, and I love that creativity! Basketball and soccer are very similar, and I played a lot of soccer as a youngster.
“It’s the first time ever that we’ve seen a court like this, and it’s an unbelievable setting. Everybody loves Paris—it’s one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It’s a city of sport—the NBA has been coming here for four years now, so there’s a lot of history, and it’s a great way to celebrate that.”
England’s Mary Earps, who joined PSG last summer, echoed that enthusiasm: “I’ve never seen a court or pitch like it—this is really cool. It’s a fun event to be a part of. I’ve already had a kickaround and shot some hoops.
“To me, ‘play has no limits’ is about pushing boundaries. On the pitch, it’s about expressing yourself, and off the pitch, it’s about breaking barriers.
As a female athlete, it’s about leaving the game in a better state than I found it. Equality and more female representation are really important.”
Robert Pires, revered by Champions League fans worldwide, was just as impressed: “Paris is a great location for PlayStation to combine two fantastic sports into one game! We’re on a rooftop, we can play football, we can play basketball, and you have an incredible view of the city and the Eiffel Tower—so it’s magic!
“I love both sports, but of course I am better at football. I enjoy playing basketball, but it was always with my friends just for fun, so today playing with Tony Parker, one of the greatest ever NBA players, is incredible!”
From every slam dunk to every top-corner strike, the PlayStation Basketball and Football Crossover Event showed off the unifying power of sport—especially in a city as iconic as Paris.
With two beloved games joined together on one court, it’s safe to say PlayStation’s motto rings true: Play really has no limits.
