The NFL International Games will stretch further and louder than ever in 2025, the league confirmed Wednesday, as a record-setting seven regular-season contests land in stadiums from São Paulo to Berlin.
American football’s travelling roadshow, once an annual London curiosity, now reads like a European festival line-up driven by prime-time kick-offs and primed to lure new devotees.
The marquee opener comes 28 September when the Pittsburgh Steelers meet the Minnesota Vikings at Dublin’s Croke Park — the first regular-season NFL clash on Irish soil.
Eight days later the Vikings re-surface at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against the Cleveland Browns, marking the venue’s 40th league game and the first of three London fixtures this autumn.
Tottenham hosts again on 12 October as the New York Jets square off with the Denver Broncos, before Wembley Stadium reclaims the spotlight a week later when the Jacksonville Jaguars, perennial visitors, face the Los Angeles Rams in their 14th appearance in the capital.
Germany receives its inaugural Berlin showcase on 9 November, pitting the Indianapolis Colts against the Atlanta Falcons under the Olympic Stadium’s banner.
The tour concludes 16 November in Madrid, where Real Madrid’s renovated Santiago Bernabéu will stage the Miami Dolphins versus the Washington Commanders — the league’s maiden voyage into Spain.
“The 2025 NFL season will see seven regular season games played outside of the U.S. — the most ever regular season international games to date, including historic first games in iconic venues in Berlin, Dublin and Madrid,” said Peter O’Reilly, the NFL’s executive vice-president for club business, major events and international.
“The 2025 International Games schedule showcases an exciting selection of matchups featuring major NFL stars, bringing our game directly to fans around the world, and underscores our collective commitment to global growth as we continue our journey to becoming a truly global sport.”
Before Europe gets its turn, the Los Angeles Chargers will launch Week 1 on 5 September at Corinthians Arena in São Paulo, Brazil. Their opponent will be revealed when the full 2025 schedule is published later today.

- Olympic echoes: Berlin’s Olympic Stadium, site of Jesse Owens’s 1936 heroics, welcomes a different kind of sprint and leap this November.
- Bernabéu’s gridiron makeover: Real Madrid’s cathedral swaps boots for cleats, offering a fresh crossroads of fútbol and football.
