LIV Golf today announced that Asprey, one of the world’s preeminent British manufacturers of luxury silverware, jewelry, timepieces and goods has agreed to a multi-year partnership to serve as the Official Trophy Provider of LIV Golf.
Asprey trophies have been lifted on LIV Golf podiums since the league’s first tournament in June 2022, and the agreement officially formalizes a partnership that will see Asprey create all league trophies and be prominently featured at tournaments through its support of LIV Golf.
“We are pleased to be the Official Trophy Provider of LIV Golf, a bold league showcasing teamwork and championship competition around the globe.
There is a mutual commitment to innovation and excellence that unites our brands, and we will present unique and exceptional trophies that celebrate the splendid sport of golf,” said Asprey Chairman John Rigas.
Asprey has a history steeped in innovative design and has been supplying sporting trophies for decades, including The Premier League, Wimbledon Championships, Formula 1, FIFA, Epsom Derby Stakes, The Jump Jockey and Gallagher Rugby Premiership.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Asprey into our portfolio of partners and we look forward to building a fruitful partnership with a prestigious global brand that operates at the top of its field,” said Monica Fee, LIV Golf Senior Vice President and Global Head of Partnerships.
“As we look to the future of LIV Golf with compelling tournaments featuring many of the world’s best golfers all around the world, the trophies will help commemorate and celebrate future player and team success.”
This week, the 2023 LIV Golf Team Championship returns to Trump National Doral Golf Club in Miami, October 20-22. The iconic Blue Monster course is staging the seeded three-day tournament, featuring both match play and stroke play, delivering the excitement of head-to-head competition as 12 world-class teams compete for a historic $50 million purse.
For the 2023 Team Championship trophy, Asprey has designed a unique trophy made up of four sterling silver shards that fit together on a carbon fiber base.
Upon presentation, the trophy may be separated into four pieces, allowing each member of the winning team to take home an equal share of the prize—a symbol of their recognition as a sporting unit.
The league’s 12-team, 48-player field boasts a combined 25 major wins, with superstar names including 2023 PGA Championship winner and 2023 U.S. Ryder Cup Team selection Brooks Koepka, 2022 Open Champion Cameron Smith, World Golf Hall of Famer Phil Mickelson, 2020 U.S. Open Champion Bryson DeChambeau, and two-time major winners Dustin Johnson, Bubba Watson and Martin Kaymer.
The LIV Golf schedule features 13 regular season tournaments, with each tournament crowning an individual and team champion.
Talor Gooch, this season’s top individual performer, earned the title of 2023 Individual Champion and will receive a specially designed trophy this week in Miami. All 48 players will compete in the Team Championship, the 14th and final event of the season.
LIV Golf is owned and operated by LIV Golf Investments whose vision and mission are centered around making holistic and sustainable investments to enhance the global golf ecosystem and unlock the sport’s untapped worldwide potential.
