Dubai-based golfer Josh Grenville-Wood has been unveiled as the newest athlete to join talent growth agency DEFY, marking a significant move in the 26-year-old’s promising career.
Grenville-Wood, who has competed on the DP World Tour (DPWT) and recorded two top-ten finishes in 2023 and 2024, hopes to secure his playing privileges for the 2026 season by focusing on a full schedule on the Hotel Planner Tour.
Representing the UAE, Grenville-Wood has demonstrated flashes of standout potential on the DPWT. He will next hit the links on home turf during the Hotel Planner Tour, UAE Challenge, on April 10th.
Among his unique attributes, he is one of the few professional athletes diagnosed with autism and has openly shared his experiences with ADHD.
This openness has led him to become an Ambassador for The ADHD Foundation Neurodiversity Charity—a role reflecting his commitment to raising awareness of neurodiversity in sport.
Now, as part of DEFY’s ambitious roster of footballers, tennis players, and golfers, Grenville-Wood stands to benefit from the agency’s holistic approach. DEFY Co-Founder Harry Croft explained:
“Josh is a top talent with a unique story and journey so far. Josh has excellent ability and crucially, the mentality to match.
We know that with our approach at DEFY, we can help propel his career to new levels, and give him the support that all athletes deserve.
“Professional golf is incredibly challenging, with high-pressure moments coming around every single time you step onto the course.
At DEFY the way in which we operate and service our athletes throughout all aspects of their careers is designed to remove some of those stresses and allow our athletes to focus on themselves and reach their optimum level of performance.
“We see this being a long and successful partnership and an exciting time to welcome Josh to the DEFY family.”
Sharing his excitement, Josh Grenville-Wood added: “I’m excited to join the Defy family. It’s a fresh start for me and I’m looking forward to working with a team who I know care and have my best interests at heart. I’m ready to take the next step in my career.”
