You see TV Presenter Hayley Palmer on screen, all smiles, and you might think she’s the queen of good times and glamorous TV moments.
But behind that lively persona is someone who’s learned the art of focus, balance, and keeping her eye firmly on the prize.
Over the past years, Hayley has knuckled down and pushed her career forward with the kind of determination that could inspire anyone to get off their couch and start making things happen.
Hayley’s not just winging it with one show; she’s steering two ships at once. There’s The Memory Lane 80’s Show, where she takes viewers on a nostalgic trip with music legends like Kim Wilde, Marty Wilde, and Cheryl Baker.
Then, there’s At Home with Hayley, a cosy space where guests such as Courtney Act, Duncan James, and Chesney Hawkes come to chat about their favourite songs.
How does she keep it all together? Well, it’s not magic—it’s about having a plan and sticking to it.
I had a chat with Hayley to get the lowdown on how she juggles everything, stays in the right mindset, and reaches her goals without losing her cool.
How Hayley Plans Her Week
When it comes to keeping her week under control, Hayley’s got a strategy that’s all about baby steps leading to big wins.
“I set monthly, weekly, and daily goals,” she says. “I make sure they’re realistic. Even if they’re small, if they move you toward your goals, that’s a win!”
She’s a big believer in celebrating the little victories. “For every six small wins, I treat myself to something nice—usually chocolate!” she laughs. “It keeps me on track, and it’s fun.”
From Coasting to Crushing Goals
You might be surprised to know that Hayley wasn’t always this organized. She admits, “I didn’t use to set goals.
I’d just kind of go with the flow and see what happened each week.” But she’s learned that a clear path makes all the difference.
“Now, I’m all about knowing exactly where I’m headed through my goals. Dreams are possible, but you need two things—a strong, positive mindset and a ton of inspired action.”
How Hayley Starts Her Day Right
Ask Hayley how she keeps her energy up, and she’ll tell you it all starts in the morning. “The morning is key to setting the tone for your entire day,” she says.
Her routine begins with writing down ten things she’s grateful for, followed by ten minutes of visualizing her goals. This isn’t just about feeling good; it’s about setting the day’s agenda with intention.
She then fires herself up with some motivational content from the likes of Tony Robbins, Lisa Nichols, or Jay Shetty.
But it doesn’t stop there. Exercise is non-negotiable for Hayley. “I taught dance before I became a presenter, and I still teach half-hour outdoor ‘feel-good’ classes.
It’s great to see people energized and laughing,” she says. “It keeps me in shape and keeps the positive vibes flowing.”
Finding Your Passion and Making It Count
Hayley’s got some solid advice for anyone who’s struggling to find their direction: “It’s so important to find your passion. That way, you actually enjoy working hard toward your goals.”
She’s honest about the journey to finding what truly lights you up, saying, “It took me until my late thirties to find what I really love!”
So if you’re still figuring it out, don’t stress. The journey is part of the process.
Connecting with Viewers Through Authenticity
For Hayley, her shows aren’t just about celebrity chats or good tunes; they’re about making a real connection with her audience.
“I try to bring the fun factor and make viewers feel like they’re right there with us, chatting away in a pub,” she explains.
Music, with its power to evoke memories, plays a huge part in that connection. “People write to me, saying a song we played brought back so many memories. I love that!”
