Gillette Teams Up with ART OF FOOTBALL for Iconic ‘The Best a Man Can Get’ Jersey

Gillette ART of FOOTBALL Jersey

In a spirited collaboration that merges heritage, design, and the raw passion of the terraces, Gillette—renowned as the UK’s leading male grooming brand—has teamed up with the football culture collective, Art of Football, to unveil a limited-edition ‘The Best a Man Can Get’ jersey.

This partnership dubbed the Gillette art of football initiative, pays homage to a chant that unexpectedly ruled the stands during the 2024 summer of football.

First created in 1989, Gillette’s familiar tune, “The Best a Man Can Get,” has resonated across generations. Reimagined in 2023 by Tom Grennan, it found fresh energy last summer when fans organically adopted it as a rallying cry for their teams.

Now, Gillette and Art of Football have answered the public’s call with a one-of-a-kind jersey that nods to classic ‘80s designs while celebrating the track’s modern resurgence.

A crisp oversized white collar—echoing the styles of the late ‘80s—frames the bold “The Best a Man Can Get” logo at the chest, a visual throwback to the original Gillette TV commercial era.

Set against a deep Gillette-blue base, the jersey’s stipple gradient motif recalls a razor gliding through stubble, subtly weaving in the brand’s identity.

At the sleeve, a five-blade emblem accented with hints of neon green reflects Gillette’s cutting-edge Labs collection.

Meanwhile, a custom embroidered crest inspired by the brand’s 1989 logo seals its vintage feel.

“Since its launch in 1989, “The Best a Man Can Get” has been a constant for Gillette. Tom created a brilliant new version of the track and to see it take off again with a new generation of fans, 30 years since the original launched, has been incredible.

It’s even more special watching the football community own it in such a unique way that only football fans can. In teaming up with ART OF FOOTBALL, it was crucial for us to create a jersey that genuinely connects with the communities of fans who propelled this song back into the spotlight.

We’re delighted to be able to donate all profits from this initiative to our longstanding charity partner, Football Beyond Borders, to support their vital work in inspiring the next generation of role models.” said Liam Sargeant, Gillette Senior Communications Manager for UK & Ireland.

Tom Grennan, the voice behind the revived track, is equally enthusiastic: “Those who know me know how much I love football and how important it is to me, so I love the design Art of Football have created.

This whole thing with Gillette, it really wouldn’t be anything without the fans who have supported me and championed me from day one – so this shirt is for them”.

For Luke Cuthbert, Managing Director of Art of Football, the project captures the spirit that the group strives to showcase: “Art of Football creates original designs that draw inspiration from the beating heart of football fan culture around the world.

To celebrate Gillette and the remake of their iconic track, we wanted to create a football shirt that reflects the standing that ‘The Best a Man Can Get has in the game of football.”

Available starting now for a limited time, the Gillette x Art of Football jersey is priced at £60 and can be purchased exclusively through Art of Football.

All profits will be donated to Football Beyond Borders, an education and social inclusion charity that uses the power of football to transform young lives.
