Patagonman Triathlon is back, and trust me, this isn’t just another triathlon—it’s an all-out battle between you and the wild.
Set for December 7, 2025, in the jaw-dropping landscapes of Chilean Patagonia, the sixth edition of the Patagonman Xtreme Triathlon is designed to push your body, mind, and maybe even your sanity to the absolute limit.
A New Registration Twist: The Double Lottery System
For the first time ever, organisers are rolling out not one but two lotteries to determine which lucky 300 competitors get to torture themselves—er, race—across this full Ironman distance course.
It’s a brilliant way to level the playing field, especially when thousands of hopefuls from every corner of the planet clamour for a shot at tackling these unforgiving trails, roads, and waters.
An Unrivaled Course Through Nature’s Finest (and Fiercest)
If you’re wondering why everyone loses their minds over Patagonman, just take a gander at the route:
- 3.8 km Swim: Athletes leap off a ferry into the dark, frigid Aysén Fjord at dawn. If the cold doesn’t wake you up, the adrenaline surely will.
- 180 km Bike: Once you’ve thawed out, you pedal through the Carretera Austral, famed for its jaw-dropping vistas—and leg-crushing climbs—before rolling into Villa Cerro Castillo.
- 42.2 km Run: The final stretch is a rugged marathon along the Ibañez River and through forest paths.
Prepare to collapse gracefully at the shores of General Carrera Lake, where a finish-line bell awaits to crown your heroic feat.
One of the most memorable aspects? A friend or support buddy can hop in at kilometre 30 of the run to finish alongside you—an inspiring nod to the camaraderie and sheer determination coursing through this event.
More Than Just a Race
Patagonman isn’t just a race; it’s a movement. With a global community rallying behind it, millions tuning in to jaw-dropping documentaries, and aerial shots of Patagonia that could make even the most seasoned adventurer weak at the knees, this event is so much more than a once-a-year endurance test.
It’s also a force for good—injecting over $2 million USD into the local economy and inspiring an active lifestyle in the Aysén region.
And here’s the kicker: every penny raised from the lottery goes straight into community projects, proving that Patagonman’s impact stretches far beyond the finish line.
A Gathering of the World’s Elite
Every edition sees the best of the best coming to push their limits in Patagonia. We’re talking past champions and legends like Jan Stepiski, Laura Siddall, Tim Don, Flora Colledge, Ben Hoffman, and Mau Mendez—all of whom have squared off with extreme weather, steep inclines, and unpredictable elements to etch their names into Patagonman lore.
And this year promises to be no exception: more top-tier talent is expected to sign on and prove their mettle against Patagonia’s wild side.
Ready to Take the Plunge?
The official lottery for 2025 opens in February, with the chosen few hearing the good (or possibly terrifying) news in March.
