This autumn, Ben Ferguson and friends star in Fleeting Time from Homestead Creative, co-produced by Red Bull Media House in collaboration with Ben Ferguson.
This film solidifies Ferguson’s evolution from a top-tier Olympic halfpipe rider to one of the greatest big mountain freeriders of today and a creative force within the sport.
He brings together the people’s champs of snowboarding—riders who collectively exemplify the best of snowboarding right now—Icons, Olympians, innovators and style masters. The crew spent the last two winters conspiring alongside Ferguson to deliver an action-packed snowboard movie for our times.
Ferguson says, “My goal for Fleeting Time was to make a classic snowboard movie like the ones I grew up watching. A film that lives up to those same high standards, stands the test of time and inspires the next generation to get out and ride.
Everyone in the movie is an amazing snowboarder, they’re some of my favourite people to ride with, and they push me to ride better every time we go out.”
From the start, Ferguson’s vision for this project called for the inclusion of an all-star crew of riders from his immediate orbit, including a massive infusion of style and personality from his brother Gabe Ferguson, along with snowboarding’s biggest names: Mark McMorris, Travis Rice, Danny Davis, Red Gerard, Hailey Langland, Zoi Sadowski-Synnott, Mikkel Bang and Brock Crouch.
Ben then links up with Japan’s newest contingent of elite halfpipe pros including the holder of the world-record halfpipe air, Kaishu Hirano, and the unstoppable force of Raibu Katayama. Mikey Ciccarelli and Luke Winkelman jump in, and Ferguson rounds out the field with his Bend, Oregon cohorts including his co-star in 2019s Joy, Jared Elston, along with Curtis Ciszek and Austin Smith.
During the two-year span, Ferg and crew travelled to Whistler, British Columbia; McCall, Idaho; Jackson, Wyoming; Haines and Valdez, Alaska; Lake Tahoe, California; Japan, and at home in Oregon at Mt. Bachelor and Mt. Hood honing in on deep powder conditions, steep peaks and massive transitions—both natural and manmade.
Fleeting Time is Ben Ferguson’s directorial debut, spearheading this two-year project filled with snowboard action, while also considering the ephemeral nature of this snowboarding life.
Iconic snowboard photographer Aaron Blatt co-directed the film. Ryan Runke and Florian Moser are the Executive Producers, with an all-star round-up of production talent to match the crew including Director of Photography Justin Eeles and editing by Joe Carlino.
The world premiere will be in Ben Ferguson’s hometown of Bend, OR on October 1, 2022. From Bend, the film departs on a U.S. screening tour, leading into a one-week free, exclusive screening opportunity on Red Bull TV starting November 3, 2022. Fleeting Time will be available to rent and buy across platforms following the Red Bull TV premiere. More information about the film here.
