Active IQ Named As A Finalist For ‘Collaboration Of The Year’ And ‘Qualification Of The Year’ At FAB 2022 Awards

Active IQ has been named as a finalist in both the ‘Collaboration of the Year’ and ‘Qualification of the Year’ categories in the seventh annual FAB 2022 Awards, organised by the Federation of Awarding Bodies.

Recognising the ways in which an awarding organisation collaborates to achieve success, Active IQ was named as a finalist in the ‘Collaboration of the Year’ category for #DoingOurBit, a platform inspired by NHS keyworker Julie Davis who wanted to provide colleagues with access to free fitness during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The campaign was brought to life through the collaboration between Active IQ, fibodo (physical activity sector software provider) and Study Active (Active IQ approved training provider) who rallied to engage PTs to record workouts, verify every minute of every session and upload them to a specially designed platform for NHS workers to access.

Active IQ was also named as a finalist in the ‘Qualification of the Year’ category for the Level 2 Mental Health Qualification which launched in November 2018. It has become Active IQ’s fastest-growing qualification with over 2,000 learners registering in 2021 alone.

The qualification was recognised for its innovative approach and assessment strategy which not only trains someone to recognise a mental health issue, but it ensures they have the practical skills to intervene and potentially save a life.

Commenting on the awards, Tom Bewick, the Federation’s chief executive, said: “The FAB awards go from strength to strength. We’re delighted to have received so many nominations of such a high standard for the prestigious FAB 2022 Awards.

The Awards showcase excellence in awarding and assessment and celebrate the contributions of individuals and teams to developing high-quality qualifications, and innovative and inclusive practice.

To reach the finals of the FAB Awards is no mean feat and I extend my warm congratulations to all finalists and wish them luck. We look forward to celebrating our world-class industry on the night.”

Now in its seventh year, the FAB 2022 Awards recognise the contributions made by awarding organisations and their employees to education and skills in the UK over the past year.  The winners will be announced at the FAB 2022 Awards dinner, sponsored by Creatio, on the 20th of October at the Marriott Hotel in Leicester.

“We are honoured to be shortlisted as a finalist in two categories this year,” says Jenny Patrickson, Active IQ managing director.  “The FAB Awards are a hugely respected and prestigious event with nominations received from many different industries.

Having our work in the leisure industry recognised as a finalist is already a huge achievement. Best of luck to all the other finalists. We look forward to coming together and celebrating at the awards dinner in October.”
