The World Athletics Indoor Tour is celebrating its 10th anniversary, and the 2025 season promises to be spectacular.
From its humble beginnings in 2020 with just seven events, the tour has expanded dramatically to an impressive 61 competitions.
This year’s tour is truly global, making stops in 19 countries across Europe, North America, and Asia—from Estonia all the way to Sweden. It’s bigger, bolder, and more exciting than ever.
The action kicks off on a crisp January 2nd in Tallinn, Estonia, and we’ll be on the edge of our seats until the final bow in Uppsala, Sweden, on March 13th.
This year, the tour is rolling out the red carpet for nine Gold-level meetings, more than any season before, which means we’re in for some serious competition.
Gold Level Glitter and Glam
The Gold level meetings are where the magic happens. They start with a bang in Astana, Kazakhstan, on January 25 and wrap up with a grand finale in Madrid on February 28.
Each event in these meetings is a mini-drama of athletic prowess, with USD$7,000 up for grabs in each discipline and a grand prize of USD$10,000 for the winners, not to mention a wild card spot at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Nanjing.
What’s on the Line in 2025
The lineup for the Gold level scoring disciplines reads like a who’s who of track and field events:
For the ladies: 60m dash, 800m, a grueling 3000m/5000m, pole vault, triple jump, and shot put.
For the gents: 400m, the 1500m/mile race, 60m hurdles, high jump, and long jump.
Athletes’ best three finishes will add up to their scorecard for the season—talk about keeping the suspense alive!
