Wayne Lèal’s innovative fitness creation, JUMPGA, has carved out a unique niche in the world of wellness, outpacing traditional spinning classes in both intensity and versatility.
JUMPGA, a hybrid of rebounding and yoga, has gained the backing of Yoga Alliance Professionals and has become a fan favourite at Champneys, the UK’s leading health spa group. It has managed to attract even the most resistant individuals—like professional athletes and footballers—into yoga asanas.
Louise Day, the Wellness Director at Champneys, emphasizes the evolution of group fitness classes, with exercisers now facing an overwhelming variety of options.
“I see more fitness choices available than ever before,” says Day. “HIIT or resistance workouts? Calisthenics or spin? Wellness or mindfulness? Group fitness classes have evolved markedly in recent years, and this is reflected in the wide range of group classes we offer.”
In a comparison experiment at Champneys, participants wore Fitbit Blaze devices to track performance during a 20-minute JUMPGA cardio session versus a spinning class.
The findings revealed that JUMPGA’s cardio component kept participants in the high-intensity Peak Zone up to five times longer than spinning. This unexpected result shows just how powerful the JUMPGA workout is.
Former Middleweight Boxing Champion Darren Barker is a testament to JUMPGA’s efficacy. When he discovered his ongoing injuries were due to the excessive strain traditional fitness routines placed on his body, he turned to JUMPGA.
Remarkably, Barker’s 14-week injury-free training regimen led to him becoming the first man in modern boxing history to win a world championship without running, skipping, weightlifting, or doing any sit-ups.
Lèal asserts that JUMPGA delivers powerful results, producing molecular changes in muscles similar to those from endurance activities like running or weightlifting.
However, it achieves these benefits in significantly less time, proving to be a highly efficient and effective form of movement.
