He has interviewed some of Hollywood’s movie elite, from stars such as Angelina Jolie, Rachel McAdams, Corey Feldman, Chris Rock and Daniel Radcliffe to name a few and no matter whom he talks to, Johny always manages to put a smile not only on their faces but ours too.
So who is this presenter we speak of? None other than that of Johny Pach, the charismatic celebrity TV Host who is currently taking the globe by storm. A rising star from the UK, Pach is one to watch and has been featured on numerous high-profile broadcasters such as BBC, MTV, and ITV.
With over 15 years of experience, Johny Pach has a knack for getting to the heart of those he interviews. After spending a highly successful year living in Hollywood Los Angeles, California, producing and hosting his own luxury entertainment program Showbuzz.
Johny has gone on to prove his worth as a serial entrepreneur and is now making his name known as a marketing expert specialising in lead generation for property, trading and investment companies.
We managed to turn the tables on the celebrity presenter and grabbed him for an interview to find out what drives him and how he manages to look good and make his work look so effortless.
Thank you so much for your time Johny. For those that don’t know you, which three words would you use to describe yourself?
Entrepreneurial / Exuberant / Galvanised
And for those that do know you, what’s one thing that people wouldn’t know about you?
I am an ambassador for “A Plastic Ocean Foundation” whose mission is to change people’s attitudes towards plastic usage and to create a cleaner and greener ocean.
It’s been a hard time for many of us during the lockdown, can you tell us how you have been keeping yourself mentally motivated during this awkward period in time?
I do daily meditation and exercise and have found it key to stick to a good routine. It’s really important on a usual day, but especially during these lockdown periods it can be easy to lose yourself without much structure. You have to have discipline.
I’m constantly reviewing and mapping out my goals. Ensuring I’m working towards achieving my goals and setting new ones along the way. I use vision boards to help me do this.
I also like to read. I don’t do as much as I’d like to, so that’s definitely an area I could improve on but I try to get an hour’s worth of reading in each day.
Before lockdown how would you describe a typical day for you?
Wow, it’s crazy to look back on this now. Life before lockdown seems like such a long time ago! My typical day was pretty similar to my days now, but without the time wasted travelling around London. Back then I was only managing to sit down at my desk by 9/9:30 am. Now, I’m saving huge amounts of time and am finding I’m being way more productive.
It’s interesting to think about how my quality of life has changed. I’ve saved so much time and money literally through not travelling into my office each day that I’ve now realised how much of an unnecessary expense that was to me both in productivity and financially.
I’m sure there are many other people out in the world having these same experiences.
How do you normally keep mentally focused leading up to an interview especially when it’s on the red carpet with plenty of distractions going on?
Red carpets can often be frantic. There’s a lot of competition, each wanting exclusive interviews with the celebrities. Not to mention people always being in a rush… so you need to be quick, well prepared and interesting.
Is there one thing that you do/say to yourself each day to keep positive?
Daily Affirmations are really important to keep you on track with your daily lives. Affirmations are really simple, short and powerful expressions.
When you say, think, even hear them, they become thoughts that create reality. Research shows that there are between 45,000 and 51,000 different thoughts that cross our minds in one day.
That’s 150 to 300 thoughts per minute and unfortunately for most people, 80 percent of these thoughts are negative. It is possible to reverse this negative aura by using affirmations as part of your daily routine.
What’s been one of your biggest highlights whilst presenting? Over the years I have hosted many film premieres in LA and London, I have hosted some of the biggest live events globally, Christmas light celebrations in different cities, all in front of thousands of people. I’ve even hosted some music festivals and global fashion shows, but I have to say hosting the Hollywood Christmas Parade on Hollywood Blvd was a dream come true. I am a big film buff anyway and seeing all of my boyhood favourite films showcased at the event was fantastic.
I have interviewed some amazing celebrities on the red carpet from James Hong, Oscar De La Hoya, David Hasselhoff, Erik Estrada, Montel Williams and many more. Just to be there, enjoying the ambience, and presenting at such a prestigious event that’s been running for nearly 100 years was a real dream come true and I am looking forward to attending the next one.
What was your first inspiration to go into business?
My fiancé, Hannah. I had never met anyone in my life that even came close to her. She not only gave me the confidence and encouragement, but she put in the work and hours with me to help me get everything up and running. She made me realise that over the years I was spending all of my time and knowledge on building other people’s businesses and told me I’d be an idiot if I didn’t start doing this for myself.
I’ve never looked back since and have now expanded my business NXT Generation overseas, by opening up NXT Generation LA and have set-up 2 other businesses from my recent success.
What is your favourite thing about being an entrepreneur?
Opportunity. That’s the word I hear when I think of being an entrepreneur. Now there are many other things associated with being an entrepreneur as I’m sure you know but if I have to name my favourites, it’s being able to be as creative as I like without having to answer to anybody else. If I fail, I fail, at least it was on my watch. You get up dust yourself off and then it’s what you do next that really matters.
How can someone believe in themselves?
Focus on your strengths and do everything you can to consistently make yourself better than you were yesterday. It’s about having the mindset and understanding that only you can create the life you really want for yourself.
Sometimes in today’s world, it’s a lot easier to become insecure, especially with social media and all of the pressure there is around but it’s where you choose to aim your focus. I listen to a lot of positive and motivational podcasts and have learned a lot from them.
What do you wish you’d known at the start of your career?
Not everything is personal. If I was more emotionally developed at the start of my career I think things would have been a lot easier for me. I’m naturally a very emotional person. I tend to care a lot about others and sometimes could take constructive criticism or things not panning out the way I planned quite personally. When in actual fact, sometimes things are just the way they are without it really having anything to do with you as a person.
I’ve learned to separate my emotions from the business whilst at the same time maintaining a healthy level of compassion.
What are the key traits that an entrepreneur needs to succeed?
Confidence, motivation, discipline, good listening skills, assertiveness, and optimism. Also, know your area of expertise and know it well.
You’ve had a remarkable career to date and won various awards, obviously apart from our one, which one is your favourite?
I have had a very exciting career filled with endless opportunities and I have met so many influential people along the way. It’s nice to receive praise for all of your hard work within the entertainment industry, it’s motivating and only inspires you to continue to do more.
Do you think your mindset with work & exercise have helped your career?
Yes absolutely it’s important to exercise every single day, from lifting weights to cardio, regular exercise increases the serotonin levels in the brain, serotonin contributes to a better sleep and increases your happiness levels.
It’s also important to practice mindfulness meditation, meditation increases the release of dopamine, a chemical associated with firing up the feelings of pleasure and keeps you highly motivated.
These are two key wellness areas which have contributed to a very successful career.
