EA SPORTS™ FIFA has again partnered with leading global men’s health charity, Movember, to encourage players to help change the face of men’s health.
From Friday November 20th, FIFA 21 players will have the chance to unlock a limited edition Movember FUT kit in-game by completing a series of objectives. The kit will be available until Friday December 4th.
Movember is inviting the FIFA community to organise their own FIFA 21 online tournaments to raise money for the charity’s lifesaving work.
The tournaments are designed to encourage players to have fun and stay connected, and follows research carried out by the charity, which found that almost a third of men (30 per cent) noted increased feelings of loneliness in the first six weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Players are being encouraged to sign up on the FIFA 21 Official Movember Challenge page, and recruit friends, work mates and family to compete in their tournament, asking each for a donation to participate.
All proceeds will go towards the FIFA 21 Official Movember Challenge total with instructions on how to set up and run a tournament available here – https://uk.movember.com/
David Jackson, Brand VP at EA SPORTS FIFA, said: ‘EA SPORTS has had the privilege of being a Movember supporter since 2013, and are continually inspired by their hugely important work across a broad spectrum of men’s physical and mental health programmes.
By introducing the Movember FUT kit in-game and encouraging our players to take on the FIFA 21 Movember Challenge, our aim is to raise both awareness and much needed funds at a time when the charities’ work has never been more relevant or important.’
Justin Coghlan, Co-founder of Movember, said: ‘We are incredibly proud to partner with EA SPORTS FIFA for another year of incredible FUT kits for the global FIFA community, to help create conversations and save lives. For many years, EA SPORTS FIFA has been a key partner in changing the face of men’s health with Movember.
Around the world, we are losing one man a minute to suicide. By delivering a Movember kit in FUT we are using a platform that talks directly to our audience – we know this will start many conversations and encourage players to check in with their mates. The kits and online tournaments will help raise vital funds and awareness by having fun and doing good, but more than that, they are keeping men connected in what has been a challenging year for everyone. Get involved and join us in our mission to stop men dying too young.’
