The London Lions have launched a landmark collaboration with renowned fashion brand TOMME, creating ten limited-edition, bespoke bags which are entirely handcrafted from a basketball by renowned designer Kelly Gunner.
Featuring an iconic print design of the East London landscape, a red satin lining inside and straps for wearing off the shoulder or in your hand.
The collaboration between the London team and TOMME intends to celebrate a blended vision of masculinity and femininity – transforming a sports item into an individual piece of art.
Currently retailing in Selfridges and The Edit LDN, each TOMME bag is a one-of-one, hand-crafted from basketballs as an international first for fashion design and innovation.
The launch of the collection was celebrated by a performance from rapper and singer Stefflon Don at the Lions’ basketball game last week, who is pictured wearing the custom-made basketball bag.
The basketball handbags also feature in TOMME’s latest campaign ‘The World We Create’ which features players from the Lions in a bid to champion ‘the notion of women becoming big players across sport and streetwear’. The handbags are now available on the London Lions website, retailing at £200.

The bags are the latest fashion collaboration from the team and come alongside a landmark study from the Lions which unveils that 11% of females in the UK say that people from fashion and sports are the most prominent cultural influences in their life.
Highlighting the impact of both sectors, 12% of females also said that their identity is largely formed through influences from the worlds of sports and fashion.
