Adidas’s first co-created collection with Karlie Kloss, aims to deliver on the performance needs of the next generation and inspire young women to harness the power of an active life.
Taking inspiration from Kloss’ own background in sport and love of running, the collection offers staple pieces in a palette of collegiate colors with playful orange accents.
Featuring a range of versatile activewear, from the essential high-performance workout bra and tights, to trend-inspired streetwear pieces designed to support a diverse range of next-generation active lifestyles.
Finally, to balance optimum performance and comfort, the collection features the adidas AEROREADY fabric technology throughout to keep athletes and creators feeling dry as they move.
As part of the collaborations’ shared ambition to minimize plastic waste, the collection uses PRIMEBLUE, a high-performance recycled material made in part with Parley Ocean Plastic – upcycled plastic waste, intercepted on remote islands, beaches, coastal communities and shorelines, preventing it from polluting our ocean, and PRIMEGREEN, a series of high-performance recycled materials.
Alongside the collection launch, adidas will explore the world of digital creation by teaming up with innovative digital fashion house The Fabricant to design a 3D expression of one of Kloss’ favorite pieces from the collection, the WIND.RDY Parka.
To kick off the collaboration, The Fabricant will work closely with two artists making waves in the industry, Ruby Gloom and Blake Kathryn, to design a digital interpretation of the garment before inviting its wider community of young creators to contribute their own unique creations, building up to a final digital expo of 3D talent.
The top creations will be sold in blockchain, with proceeds supporting new events and programming for Kode With Klossy’s alumni community of over 5,000+ scholars, helping them continue to pursue their passion for tech and STEAM.
The two young innovators and changemakers, Alexis Williams and Elysha Ang, featured in the campaign are alums from Kode With Klossy, a nonprofit organization founded by Karlie Kloss that helps young women develop confidence and embrace their passion for computer science through free two-week summer coding camps.
The campaign visuals were captured by artist, photographer and social commentator, Shaniqwa Jarvis. From start to finish, the collection and campaign were created by a formidable all-female line-up, designed to honor women making strides in the world today.
The adidas x Karlie Kloss collection will be available on adidas.com from December 1, 2020, with additional seasonal drops launching in 2021.
