Boxercise is based on the training concept boxers typically use to keep fit, which includes boxing movements, typically in a circuit, and other types of workouts.
For this reason, boxing is one of the best cardio workouts that can be done when you’re away from the gym, especially when your abroad for work and for me this was perfect to do when I was filming Break in Beijing.
Boxercise can be one of the best cardio workouts you can do so follow my tips below which can be done in the comfort of your own home.
I recommend Shadow boxing. I do this before every scene almost, it charges the whole body and pumps you up and helps you get into character.
Even if you are not a boxer or have never fought, three tips here can help you use shadow boxing for fun and fitness:
1. Stay on the balls of your feet, bounce around, make it fun and use all the space you have.
2. Pump those arms out, whether your punches are correct or not, remember to throw out the arm to full extension and turn your knuckles over.
3. And lastly, try things out, there are so many useful videos online regarding boxing and shadowboxing, if you see something that looks cool try it! It’s your workout so you may as well learn something and enjoy.
I hope this can help while everyone is in lockdown, staying home and keeping safe is so important. These Boxercise tips can help people get their daily dose of fitness and get your heart pumping.
Another key tip is it is important to mix up your everyday fitness routine to keep yourself fit and healthy.
You’ll be surprised by the never-ending benefits boxing can provide, and you may just come out of lockdown a pro boxer too!
