In celebration of Global Wellness Day on June 8, 2019, Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North will host a variety of complimentary “DIY Wellness” experiences to showcase ways that guests can create their own wellness experiences while traveling or at home.
Global Wellness Day is currently celebrated in more than 100 countries from sunrise in New Zealand until sunset in Hawaii.
Taking place on the second Saturday of June every year, this special day reminds the entire world of the importance of living well, encompassing everything from exercise, beauty treatments, spiritual teachings, ways of thinking, and harmony between body and spirit.
Founded by Belgin Aksoy eight years ago, Global Wellness Day is a social movement without any commercial purpose.
Global Wellness Day will feature a guided mindfulness walk, a variety of fitness classes led by expert instructors, a Tai Chi class, a guided relaxation and meditation session, and the opportunity for guests to blend their own customized body butter using all-natural essential oils.
In addition, the team of mixologists at Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North will present a Healthy Happy Hour demonstration featuring cocktails with a host of health benefits.
The following “DIY Wellness” Global Wellness Day activities are complimentary and open to resort and local guests alike.
6:00 am — Guided Mindfulness Walk
Stop, breathe and take in the beauty of nature with a guided mindfulness walk that starts at The Spa.
Approximately 60 minutes from start to finish, the walk will be led by resort instructors and will incorporate mindfulness exercises along the way. It’s a gentle way to start the day that both invigorates the body and calms the mind.
7:00 am — Tai Chi on the Lawn
Come and experience the calming and rejuvenating effects of this mindful martial art as the Resort presents a one-hour class led by a professional Tai Chi instructor.
Tai Chi uses simple smooth and repetitive moments that all ages and fitness levels can enjoy. Learn the meditative movements in a fun and casual setting perfect for both first-time Tai Chi participants and longtime practitioners.
8:00 am — Guided Relaxation and Meditation
Scientific research has shown that meditation helps to reduce stress, improve concentration, and lower blood pressure among many other benefits to health and mental wellness.
This 60-minute guided group relaxation and meditation will teach participants tools for releasing stress and achieving a deep level of relaxation and introspection.
10:00-11:30 am — Aroma Design Bar Blending Experience
Drop-in for a few minutes of creative blending as The Spa presents its Aroma Design Bar Blending Experience featuring all natural Body Bliss products.
Guided by a blending expert, guests are able to explore dozens of aromatherapy combinations to create a rich, custom-blended body butter or body polish enhanced with all-natural essential oils and leave with a complimentary sample to use at home.
4:30 pm — Healthy Happy Hour Cocktail Demonstrations
In this one-hour Healthy Happy Hour demonstration, the Resort’s team of talented mixologists will teach participants how to create cocktails that not only use healthful ingredients, but that taste great, too.
Using fresh seasonal fruits, just-picked herbs and alternatives to sugar, they craft a variety of cocktails that make it easy to toast “to your health.”
The Kombucha Mojito is a delicious blend that incorporates turmeric and wild honey kombucha, rum, lime juice and fresh muddled mint.
The team’s Scottsdale Shandy features matcha and their Whiskey Sour takes a twist with honey and sage.
In addition to the activities listed above, the Resort will offer additional fitness classes throughout the day including Yoga, Spin, and Strength and Tone.
