NFL Back on BBC With Extended Saturday Show

The NFL Show bbc

The National Football League will return to the BBC for the new 2020 season, with The NFL Show back on Saturday nights and Super Bowl LV to be aired live from Tampa, Florida, on February 7.

The NFL Show will be bigger and better than ever with a new extended slot. It will again be presented by Mark Chapman, former NFL cornerback Jason Bell and two-time Super Bowl winner Osi Umenyiora, whose work on the show has won him two Royal Television Society Awards.

The show will feature expert analysis, unique insight, all the key action and storylines – plus the usual dose of the unexpected.

As the teams battle for a place in the Super Bowl, the team will be across this season’s key stories, including six-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady’s move from New England to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers; Patrick Mahomes bidding for back-to-back titles with the Kansas City Chiefs; and a new era for the New England Patriots with quarterback Cam Newton signed from the Carolina Panthers.

“We are back and bigger than ever before, with one of the most fascinating seasons ever to sink our teeth into,” said Umenyiora.

“I’m excited to rejoin Chappers and J-Bell as we take viewers through every twist and turn of a brand-new NFL year on the BBC. Fasten your seatbelts because this season is going to be wild.”

BBC Director of Sport Barbara Slater said: “We are delighted to continue our relationship with NFL UK which sees us bringing a further two seasons of action for our audiences to enjoy”

NFL Managing Director, International Media, Sameer Pabari added: “We are very pleased to have extended our partnership.

The BBC’s coverage of the sport has been rightly recognised for its high quality and we look forward to working with them across all their platforms to make the NFL accessible to as many people as possible.”

The NFL returns to the BBC for the 2020-21 season with The NFL Show on Saturday September 12 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. There will also be online highlights and live text commentaries.

The 2020 NFL season kicks off on Thursday, September 10 as reigning Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs take on the Houston Texans.
