To celebrate all things Champions League final Frankie and Benny's commemorate the historic final with branded burgers

Frankie & Benny’s is celebrating the Champions League final with takeaway burger buns especially branded to cheer on Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

The top Italian/American restaurant which has just introduced 26 new dishes reflecting the UK’s changing tastes and drinking habits will use special branding irons to personalise burger buns to click & collect or order for delivery for dedicated football fans.

Chefs in Liverpool (Edge Lane restaurant) and North London (Chingford and Enfield) will use a hot branding iron to mark the takeaway burger buns with commemorative YNWA - You’ll Never Walk Alone or  COYS - Come On You Spurs. Both celebrating the remarkable achievement of reaching the prestigious final despite tough opposition in the semi-finals.

Liverpool and Tottenham pulled off two of the most remarkable comebacks in the competition’s history. The Reds were the first to book their place in Madrid after overcoming a 3-0 deficit against Barcelona, before Spurs pulled off the same within the space of 45 minutes against Ajax.

And on June 1 the Champions League final in Madrid will conclude an historic week for English football being the first time that both major European finals will be contested by clubs from the same country. While Tottenham are in their first ever final, last season's runners-up Liverpool are looking for their SIXTH European title.

The Europa League final sees London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea head to Baku, Azerbaijan, while odds on favourite Liverpool take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final in Madrid.

All eyes will be on the Champions League final on Saturday night at 8pm with an expected global audience of up to 380million watching Liverpool take on Tottenham at The Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, the home of Athletico Madrid.

Restaurants are expecting a massive demand for takeaways that night as football fans are glued to the TV or on YouTube where BT are streaming the game live for free.

As well as the commemorative branded buns for takeaway through selected delivery partners Frankie & Benny’s is also offering special discounts in all their restaurants for all those who don't want to watch the historic match.

Frankie & Benny’s Brand & Strategy Director, Elise Ash said: “It’s a game that will go down in history. We know that no football party is complete without some delicious food so we want to celebrate it together with Frankie & Benny’s and football fans, by allowing them to support their team with a juicy branded burger in hand. So whether you’ll be screaming “Come on You Spurs” or chanting “You’ll Never Walk Alone”, we’ve got it covered!”.
