With a rise in alternative therapy over the decades such as mindfulness, meditation and even goat yoga, Brits are always on the lookout for the latest wellness trends and classes in a bid to exercise self-care.
Welcome, Binaural Beats: the UK’s first soundwave therapy offering launching exclusively at selected Spa Retreats at David Lloyd Clubs this summer.
Sit down, relax and listen through individual headphones to a specialised sound system, designed to help relieve stress and anxiety and even help improve concentration and motivation.
This innovative and emerging form of audio healing is personalised to each ailment with different waves for every problem and sees the right and left ears listen to two slightly different frequency tones.
For those who want to relax and unwind, Binaural beats therapy can act in a similar way to meditation, seen as a type of self-help technology that should be enjoyed in a quiet place with absolutely no distractions.
The sound system allows participants to experience a deep meditation and ‘audio cleanse’ on relaxation beds via personal headphone listening points.
Binaural Beats works by individuals hearing the difference in frequency between the sound the left and the right ear receive.
So if the left ear registers a tone at 200 hertz (Hz) and the right at 210 Hz, the binaural beat heard is 10 Hz. The tracks, however, should always be at frequencies lower than 1000 Hz for the brain to detect the binaural beat.
Taking place in a specially designed meditation room, participants will have the option to choose from a number of relaxing tracks on the app depending on what ailment they wish to treat such as anxiety, insomnia or fatigue.
Head of Spa at David Lloyd Clubs, Stephanie Holland, says: “At David Lloyd Clubs, we’re always looking for new, innovative offerings for our members, particularly when it comes to self-care and wellness therapy and we are excited to be launching Binaural Beats exclusively at our clubs.”
“Our spa retreats are designed to help you relax your body and your mind and Binaural Beats therapy can help you do just that.“
The key to this experience is the track selection – we have 12 different frequencies to choose from combining different tones and vibes to treat whatever it is you wish to treat. The experience is completely personal.”
Binaural Beats therapy can be enjoyed alongside all the benefits the David Lloyd Clubs’ new Spa Retreats have to offer which include citrus steam rooms, amethyst crystal steam room, Himalayan salt sauna, hydrotherapy salt pool and outdoor spa garden. The new Binaural treatments are available at selected Spa Retreats exclusively at David Lloyd Clubs.
