Run & party with us at the Cancer Research London Winter Run
Londoners are in for a dusting of snow at the start line of the fifth annual Cancer Research UK London Winter Run in the heart of the city on Sunday 3rd February, 2019.
London’s biggest 10K will see over 20,000 runners brave the cold alongside polar bears and penguins to complete a unique route past London’s famous landmarks, with roads closed exclusively for the event starting from Trafalgar Square and finishing at Whitehall by Downing Street.
Since the inaugural race in 2015, the iconic London run has raised more than £2,000,000 for Cancer Research UK and other causes close to the hearts of runners. Many have shared inspiring stories about their own experiences with cancer and overcoming the odds to take part in the event, which draws entries from all over the UK and abroad.
For those who prefer to take things a little slower, organisers have this year introduced a concurrent walking event, the London Winter Wander in partnership with London Sport. With darker, colder days upon us, organisers are promoting the event as an opportunity to combat feelings of social isolation and improve mental wellness through exercise.
Runners unable to make it on race day are invited to take part in the first ever Virtual Winter Run, with the ability to run the 10K distance remotely. Virtual runners can complete any route of their choosing, helping to raise funds for Cancer Research UK with a bespoke version of the sought after medal following in the post.
