Eight Sleep, announces the additions of Dr. Andrew Huberman, Dr. Matthew Walker, and Dr. Peter Attia to its Scientific Advisory Board.

This milestone underscores the company’s ongoing commitment to integrating cutting-edge scientific research into its product development, further solidifying its leadership in sleep technology and pushing the limits on optimising sleep.

Leveraging its research and development lab located in Boston, US, Eight Sleep has become the pioneer in sleep fitness, with over ten patents built into its products (and another 22 underway) that have been clinically proven to improve sleep quality, increase REM and deep sleep, and reduce snoring.

With a foundation built on over 500 million hours of sleep data, Eight Sleep boasts one of the largest sleep datasets in the world today.

This extensive database has led to nearly 30 papers and studies published in the last two years, including a recent peer-reviewed paper demonstrating that the Pod – Eight Sleep’s signature product – increases deep, light and REM sleep and enhances cardiovascular recovery.

Welcoming some of the most renowned sleep and health experts in the world to Eight Sleep’s Scientific Advisory Board comes as a natural next step as the company continues to advance sleep science and human potential by developing the next generation of the most powerful and effective sleep technology.

“At Eight Sleep, we’ve transformed how people sleep and ultimately perform, and we’re just getting started.

Our relentless drive to continually evolve our products is at the core of our mission. The additions of Dr. Huberman, Dr. Attia, and Dr. Walker— leading scientists in neuroscience, longevity, and sleep science— to our Scientific Advisory Board will supercharge our research and development,” said Co-Founder and CEO of Eight Sleep, Matteo Franceschetti.

“People constantly complain about different issues that get in the way of their sleep—it’s a huge problem that we’ve made great strides in solving.

But there is so much more we can build into our solutions to continue to improve people’s lives. We’re not just dreaming about the future of sleep—we’re making it happen, creating life-changing technologies that help everyone achieve better health.”

Highlighting the transformative power of sleep, Dr. Andrew Huberman, a distinguished neuroscientist and professor at Stanford School of Medicine and host of the #1 Health & Fitness podcast, Huberman Lab, stated that “Quality sleep is the foundation of physical health, mental health, and performance.

Eight Sleep excels in both monitoring and actively improving sleep quality. As a loyal user, I deeply believe in Eight Sleep’s mission to help people improve their sleep with innovative, easy-to-use technology.

As part of the Scientific Advisory Board, I am excited to work closely with this world-class team to help improve the sleep and health of millions of people worldwide.”

Dr. Matthew Walker, the world’s leading sleep scientist, author of the book Why We Sleep, and professor of neuroscience and psychology at the University of California, Berkeley, emphasised the rapid advancements.

“Sleep is the single most effective thing we can do each day to rest our brain and body health. It is a real privilege to partner with Eight Sleep and its technology advances to optimise human sleep.

Recognizing that everyone sleeps differently, their creation of a technology that provides a personalised blueprint for optimal sleep is exciting to me. I’m thrilled to join the team and the other advisors. I look forward to supporting their mission to improve sleep for better overall health.”

This announcement comes during a period of significant growth for Eight Sleep, highlighted by the recent launch of the Pod 4 Ultra.

Underlying the Pod technology is Autopilot 3.0, the intelligence behind the Pod that personalises the user experience for optimal recovery.

Leveraging advanced machine learning and artificial intelligence, Autopilot is trained on over 1.2 million hours of sleep data to make real-time temperature adjustments based on sleep trends, personal patterns, and environmental factors.

This ensures users achieve more time in each sleep phase, delivering the best sleep possible, every night.

“Nutrition and exercise are important, but sleep should never be overlooked,” added Dr. Peter Attia, a leading longevity and health optimization expert.

“My work has always focused on enhancing both lifespan and the quality of health. I believe that proactive health measures can profoundly impact overall well-being.

I am thrilled to join the Eight Sleep Scientific Advisory Board and contribute to their mission as leaders in innovative sleep technologies that are instrumental in improving both short- and long-term health outcomes.”
